The water and debris doesn't look like water at all. It looks like a horrifying monster coming to get you. I can see that it would be deceptive in that it moves relatively slowly, making you think you were safe and had plenty of time to get away. Me, I would be running fast.

They "come through" relatively slow as long as the wash is wide and flat. When it starts to narrow up, like in a slot canyon, they really speed up. I hope to get footage of one coming through a slot one day..havent figured how how yet lol.

Yea, It's nuts in person. The ground is literally shaking as the flood rolls by.
